The Semiconductors & AI Infrastructure Forum is a high-level platform bringing together leaders from the UK, Israel and allied countries – including major US hyperscalers – to explore semiconductor-driven innovation within its wider strategic context. Its scope spans AI compute, data centre infrastructure, sustainable AI and emerging chip technologies.
Rather than a one-off event, the Forum is designed as an ongoing and evolving conversation, convening industry leaders, investors, infrastructure providers and policymakers on a regular basis. Each edition focuses on a different strategic theme, enabling participants to explore key challenges in greater depth, develop new partnerships and build momentum over time.
Semiconductors have become a central pillar of economic and geopolitical power, driven by rapid growth in AI, cloud computing and data centres. Yet growing global demand for AI is increasingly constrained by physical bottlenecks – including data centre capacity, pressure on energy grids and memory limitations at the chip level. Addressing these challenges requires closer coordination between governments, industry and investors across allied countries: no single country can build the AI stack alone. The Forum was created to support that coordination and strengthen collaboration between the UK, Israel and their international partners.

Artificial intelligence is transforming economies, but AI does not exist in isolation. It depends on the physical infrastructure that enables it.
Recognising the strategic importance of AI hardware, the UK this month published its new AI Hardware Plan, setting out a long-term vision to strengthen the UK’s AI ecosystem and the hardware that underpins it.
But no single country can lead across every layer of the AI stack. Building resilient AI infrastructure requires trusted international partnerships that combine complementary strengths.
That is why, the British Embassy in Israel, through the UK-IL Tech Hub, launched the Semiconductor & AI Infrastructure Forum last week. The event opened with remarks from our Chargé d’Affaires, Thomas Phipps MBE, and the FCDO Global Tech Director, Serena Stone MBE.
The Forum brings together leaders from industry, government and investment across the UK, Israel and allied partners to create ongoing dialogue on the future of AI infrastructure. Designed as a long-term platform rather than a one-off event, it will continue through future roundtables exploring the opportunities and challenges shaping the field.
