International collaboration driving climate innovation 💡 ☀️ 🌍
Last week, we had the privilege of hosting the final phase of ‘Pears Challenge 2025: ClimateTech’ at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Israel.
This initiative — led by Nura Global Innovation Lab (formerly Pears Program for Global Innovation) and funded by the UK-based Pears Foundation, brought together an inspiring group of people and marked a true moment of international collaboration in action.
Six visionary Israeli ventures – OptiCrop Pty Ltd, AgriBio₃, Laguna Innovation, Eden Materials, SoilSight, and Feezibility were selected to move forward in the program. These ventures were chosen to tackle pressing climate challenges in East Africa, and we were honoured to host them ahead of their trip to Kenya for field validation.
The UK’s role here is more than symbolic. As Deputy Ambassador Thomas Phipps MBE Phips said at the event:
“Through the Pears Challenge 2025: ClimateTech, the UK Israel Tech Hub partnership with Nura Global Innovation Lab is not only empowering visionary start-ups on their journey to Kenya but also reinforcing the UK’s global leadership in climate resilience and its unwavering commitment to Net Zero by 2050. This initiative stands as another testament to the British Embassy’s commitment to delivering real impact for a sustainable future, through close collaboration with tech, academia, and industry”.
